John R. Herrig is a founder and partner of the Law Firm of Herrig & Vogt, LLP.

Prior to practicing law, for twelve years Mr. Herrig held various positions in heavy construction, most recently as Chief Operations Officer of a major steel fabrication company. Mr. Herrig is active in the California State Bar, the Washington State Bar, the Alaska State Bar, California Associated General Contractors Legal Advisory Committee and the American Bar Association. Mr. Herrig has extensive practical experience in heavy mechanical and power piping projects, hydro-electric, nuclear and fossil fuel generation plant construction as well as other industrial and commercial construction projects. With this prior practical experience, Mr. Herrig has a journeyman's grasp of engineering drawings, manual and computerized scheduling techniques and, most importantly, an understanding of the complex construction process and the decision making mechanics inherent in that process. Mr. Herrig limits his law practice to construction disputes for various trade contractors, general contractors, sureties and private and public owners as well as serving as mediator and arbitrator of construction disputes.

Mr. Herrig is a member of the California Public Works Contract Arbitration Program panel of approved arbitrators and has arbitrated and mediated over 60 cases in Washington and California, primarily complex construction disputes.  Mr. Herrig also arbitrates smaller, mandatory arbitration cases, as assigned by the Benton-Franklin County Superior Court.  Mr. Herrig has completed both American Arbitration Association and American Bar Association arbitrator training seminars as well as attended the Pepperdine University, Straus Institute, mediator training program.

Mr. Herrig received his Juris Doctorate Degree from Pepperdine University School of Law in 1976 and has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Management from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Mr. Herrig is admitted to practice in all California, Washington, and Alaska State courts, California and Washington Federal courts, United States Court of Federal Claims, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and the Federal Circuit as well as the United States Supreme Court. He is also a member of the California Public Works Arbitration Committee Panel of Arbitrators.
